Coronavirus Update
Dear Church,
As you know, the Coronavirus health concern is becoming more and more pressing and widespread. For that reason, East Baptist Church is taking all precautions necessary to assure the safety of our congregation while holding on to our God who is bigger than all of this. For that reason, we have made certain decisions based around our Sunday worship service and midweek meetings that we would like to share with you at present.
#1 Sunday Morning Service – UPDATED (05/24/2020) EBC hosts a hybrid service every Sunday morning at 10:45am with socially-distanced seating available on campus in Lynn, MA as well as the entire service being available to watch and follow live on East Baptist Church’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/ebclynnma. You can tune in there for prayer, worship, Scripture reading, Pastor Kevin’s sermon, and encouragement as you do each week. We encourage you to make the decision that is best for your family when deciding whether or not to attend in person or watch online. Note: We have hand sanitizer available in the back of the sanctuary throughout the service and will forego any formal greeting time while encouraging our members to greet each other through waves and nods rather than handshakes or fist bumps. All those attending on campus are required to wear a mask – even when singing.
#2 Other Sunday Morning Activities – UPDATE (09/09/2020) We will host small groups on campus at 9:30am which the option to move the meeting time to something that works for the group members moving forward.. Our worship service will begin at 10:45am as noted above.
#3 MidWeek Programs – We will be CANCELLING our Wednesday Encounter Bible Study, Friday EBC Youth program, Thursday Choir Practice, and all other midweek meetings for the foreseeable future. Stay in touch with your group leader for creative opportunities to stay engaged. For example, EBC Youth staff will broadcast live on social media or meet on Zoom during the normal Friday youth meeting time.
#4 Giving – You can still give to support the ministry of East Baptist Church through our website at www.eastbaptist.org/online-giving/.
#5 Meeting Needs – If you, your family, or someone you know is impacted by the Coronavirus or the subsequent business closings, East Baptist Church is here to help. Please call or e-mail the church with any needs, and we will do our best to address them. Jesus calls us to carry each other’s burdens, and EBC is here to help carry yours in this time.
Trust the Lord, stay safe, and wash your hands. We will get through this. As serious and concerning as this season is, it will have an end. We can trust our God to walk with us through the valley, and lean on each other in this time of need.
We love you. We’re praying for you. We’re here for you.
In Him,
The Pastors and Leadership of East Baptist Church
